Violin Masterclass for All-State Auditions
Chien Tan, Principal Second Violin of the Oregon Symphony will lead a violin masterclass for 4 students. Students will have the opportunity to play and receive feedback in preparation for their upcoming audition recording.

Chien Tan joined the Oregon Symphony as Principal Second Violin in September 1999. She was previously a tenured member of the Pacific Symphony, and has participated in the Oregon Bach, Grand Teton, Colorado, and Chicago’s Grant Park music festivals. She serves as a sectional coach with the Portland Youth Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Chien holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute of the Arts as a full-tuition scholarship student of Elizabeth Baker, a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of David Cerone and David Updegraff.
